On July 28, 2021, the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education "EdNet" together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a meeting of representatives of student councils and heads of higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic on the issue of enhancing student participation in procedures and activities to improve the quality of higher education in the country.

The purpose of this meeting was to create a Student Union for the quality of education, which is to unite students from universities of the Kyrgyz Republic, aiming to improve the quality of education, form a culture of quality, and enhance the role of students in all procedures of the quality assurance system, protecting the interests of students in these procedures.

The meeting was attended by representatives of student councils and heads of 15 universities, representing all regions of the country. Deputy Minister of Education, Omurov Nurlan Kubatovich and Executive Director of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education "EdNet", Umankulova Onolkan Almataevna spoke to the participants of the meeting.

Also, in front of the participants with a presentation on the theme "Activities of the European Student Union", Vice-President of the European Student Union, Mr. Jakub Grodecki. Presentations on the theme “Activities of National Student Unions in Europe” were made by Mr. Horia Onito, President of the National Student Union of Romania and Mr. Jacob Blasius, International Affairs Officer, National Student Union of Denmark, as well as Mubarak Yakubova, Youth Policy Coordinator of EdNet Agency, and Askar Shaikidinov, President of United Youth Organization, made a presentation on the theme “Student Union of EdNet Agency”.

The participants of the meeting discussed a memorandum on the creation of the Student Union for the quality of education, relying on the experience of the development of the Student Union by the EdNet Agency, and agreed on the nearest activities for the development of this student union.
